Roger Persson is graduated industrial designer at HDK in Gothenburg and has also studied furniture design at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Since 2009 he runs his own design studio, Roger Persson Design, where he mainly designs furniture and lighting, but has also designed, among other things, electrical switches, 3D scanners, doors and toys. Roger's furniture has been exhibited in Japan and USA, among other places, and he has received several awards for his design.
Rogers’s design is based on simplicity, clarity and a timeless expression. The inspiration for the DOT lamp series, which is Roger’s first series for Globen Lighting, is found in a glass bottle decorated with a lid with a larger knob. The lamp’s knob in wood creates a beautiful contrast to the glass bowl. Roger's idea with the DOT series is that you should be able to group the two sizes in different ways, several matching lamps on the same space.
