Julia Hallström is an artist and illustrator. Her paintings are based on various media and materials, such as oil and acrylic, plexiglas and wood slabs.For Globen Lighting, Julia has designed the lamp "Orb". When Julia draw the lamp she wanted to combine different materials and strengthen the contrast between them. The basic idea of the design was to convey a feeling of something fragile that rests on a hard surface. The spherical light source in glass rests on a hard surface in wood, like an egg in a bird's nest or a round stone in a hand. The lamp can be placed on the bedside table, in the bookcase on a pile of books or elsewhere where you want a light shine.
